I had knee surgery to fix a torn meniscus 8 years ago. I have since reinjured my knee and now have a torn medial and lateral meniscus in the same knee. I have put off surgery until I am no longer a nursing mom. The pain can be unbearable at times-leaving it near impossible to walk let alone use stairs.
